Wrigley Yorkville Plant Expansion

The Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company (Wrigley) invested over $50 million to expand their Yorkville facility. The Chicago-based Wrigley company is now making Skittles at it’s Yorkville plant. HR Green provided a broad range of professional services for the project which included; Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture Services, Surveying Services, Transportation Services, and Permitting Services. Additionally, HR Green collaborated with the Economic Development Corporation Director and the State, providing assistance to secure a grant. The plant expansion facilitated a 25% growth of manufacturing jobs for the community.

HR Green provided coordination with ComEd to avoid impacts to an existing electrical substation and to provide service upgrades to both the existing and new substations. The site design also involved the design of a zero release stormwater management basin, the relocation of existing fire suppression lines, a new sanitary sewer lift station, and the design of a signalized entrance off of Illinois Route 47.
