Locations
Portions of the City of Liberty flooded, revealing extensive problems with infiltration and inflow in the City’s collection system. The City had struggled to address the collection system improvements and develop plans for the maintenance of their sanitary sewer collection system, and they sought a cost-effective way to identify problem locations and help in planning future operations and maintenance work.
Developing a GIS database allowed our team to quickly and cost-effectively assess and prioritize the collection system improvements. Over 600 sanitary sewer manholes and 28 lift stations were assessed in just 3 months. From this, the City and HR Green developed a plan for future improvements.
The highest priorities included the replacement of approximately 60 manholes, replacement of over 8,400 linear feet of gravity sewer pipe, the elimination of two lift stations, rehabilitation of one lift station, and the replacement of two lift stations. HR Green completed the design of each of these projects and is currently providing construction observation.
