Harvard Streetscape Preserves Historic Character

The vision for the Harvard Streetscape Revitalization Plan was to establish a vibrant mixed-use retail and residential community Downtown while preserving the City’s historic character and heritage.

The design team worked with City officials to establish a vision and goals which ultimately formed the project’s foundation. HR Green selected thematic design elements and furnishings to capture the desired look and feel of Harvard and create an identity using planting beds, decorative lighting, pavers, and street trees.

Deliverables included plans, illustrations, cost estimates, and construction documents for proposed roadway improvements including intersection pullout bulbs and tree-lined sidewalks to calm traffic and improve pedestrian safety. The Harvard streetscape project also included design guidelines to ensure that future development occurs consistent with the overall vision for the downtown.
