HR Green was selected as one of two design firms to lead Chick-fil-A’s expansion into the Upper Midwest. Our multidisciplinary team offers a full array of surveying, engineering, and landscape architectural design services ranging from conceptual design to final construction documents.

HR Green’s team assists in the design and site planning of each new Chick-fil-A restaurant and is responsible for creating a high-quality site experience through innovative design. We provide municipal submittal documents, estimates of cost as well as illustrative graphics to facilitate public meetings. Our team assesses each site and works closely with municipal staff to ensure that the proposed design meets all local ordinances and codes as well as accomplishing the client’s needs. Each site is uniquely designed to address existing conditions and surrounding constraints and to enhance the curb appeal of the stores.

HR Green also acts as an Owner’s Representative during the entitlement process, which includes preparing special use and permit applications, public notices, and project coordination, including utility coordination and other service districts. Our team leads Chick-fil-A restaurant site development, coordinating with the architect, utility providers, landlords, and municipal officials to get these stores up and running, usually within an aggressive schedule.

Since 2009, our land development team has completed approximately 60 Chick-fil-A stores, ranging from initial due diligence to construction completion and punch-out with locations in Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa, North & South Dakota, Minnesota, Nebraska, Missouri, and Kansas.
