HR Green Welcomes Kate Barnes as a Lead Engineer for Water Resources
HR Green is pleased to announce that Kate Barnes, PE, CFM, has joined the firm’s Des Moines office as a Lead Engineer for Water Resources.
Kate has over nine years of experience in stormwater design, modeling, and project management. Her career has been focused on urban and rural stream restoration and stabilization, wetland design, citywide drainage studies, detention basins, culverts, permeable pavers, and bioretention cells.
Kate will play a crucial role in leading project design by integrating technical expertise, collaborative skills, and a comprehensive understanding of environmental and community needs.

Kate earned an M.S. in Biosystems Engineering from Oklahoma State University and a B.S. in Agricultural Engineering from Iowa State University. She is a member of the Iowa Floodplain and Stormwater Management Association and the Association of State Floodplain Managers.
