HR Green Celebrates Rapid Growth on Fiber and Broadband Anniversary
Two years ago, HR Green discovered many of its clients were struggling to adjust to the rapidly increasing need for advanced communication services in their communities. Having helped solve municipal issues for more than 100 years, the team recognized an opportunity to help communities address this demand for advanced fiber, broadband, and 5G infrastructure and create real advantages in economic development.
Today, the firm is pleased to announce that it has added its 30th client nationally, including the creation of “first in the nation” approaches for both public sector and land development clients.
“Our initial focus was helping communities to study the deployment of community broadband solutions. This initial focus has been successful, but becomes even more powerful when we recognized the need to help communities to address the broader issues of communication infrastructure” says Ed Barrett, HR Green Practice Leader – Fiber & Broadband Services. “5G implementation has taken a front seat and we are not only helping communities play ‘defense’ by implementing effective policy and aesthetic guidelines, but by helping them go on offense to work with private sector carrier partners to further their technology and economic goals. “
As the firm celebrates this milestone, it also continues to look to the future. A properly connected city is a foundation for smart city applications. These communication systems will need to have access to high-speed transmission driven by advanced networks. By creating this infrastructure, cities are creating a platform to achieve broader community goals for education, economic development, and citizen service
On the human capital front, HR Green has continued to add skilled professionals specializing in this emerging market to create a national footprint and deepen its technical and leadership bench. The thought leadership of the group includes Dave Zelenok – former Chief Innovation Officer with Centennial, CO — and an in-demand national speaker on the topic and Ken Demlow, who serves nationally on the American Public Works Association (APWA) UPROW committee, helping form public policy on behalf of municipalities across the country on right of way management best practices
“As we look forward, we’re confident we can continue our success as we provide broader services to help municipalities reach their connectivity goals,” says Rick White, Business Line President. “We will continue to invest in resources that can help us maintain our thought leadership and practical application of technical solutions for our clients.”
