Austin Green Awards Recognize Whisper Valley as “2021 Project of the Year”

This year, Austin Green Awards named Whisper Valley “2021 Project of the Year.” The goal of the master-planned community is to be the most affordable and sustainable large-scale community in the U.S.

HR Green collaborated on the 2,063-acre master-planned community project, providing preliminary and final platting support, civil engineering design and permitting, and bidding and construction phase services. These engineering services offered a path for builders to meet strict building codes while designing zero-energy capable homes.
Austin Green Awards recognized the scalable approach to sustainable development on the mass market created by the Whisper Valley project.
Whisper Valley aims to make sustainable housing affordable through EcoSmart Solution, an innovative green energy service provider. Every home connects to a geothermal energy supply system. The GeoGrid can reduce energy consumption by about 65 percent.
Whisper Valley will encompass over 600 acres of creatively designed residential neighborhoods and business districts, along with 600 acres of beautiful parks, scenic trails, and pristine forests. As the community grows, current design plans prepare for the addition of retail and office areas, two school campuses, an emergency services center, and a transportation center.

Whisper Valley is located east of the SH-130 Tollway near Manor, Texas, approximately 25 minutes from downtown Austin.
While under Phase 1 of growing the community, 237 lots are currently in progress. Once fully developed, Whisper Valley will include 7,500 affordable and sustainable homes. Homebuilders include Pacesetter Homes, GFO Home, Terrata Homes, AHA Dream Homes, and Thurman Homes.
Whisper Valley was also recognized as the Master-Planned Community of the Year at the 2021 Greater Austin Homebuilders Association’s MAX Awards.
