HR Green completed the TH 60 Corridor Study in Lake Crystal for MnDOT District 7. Key components of this study included several traffic studies, the development of corridor alternatives, environmental screening (including the Cat Ex document), and completion of a Level 1 layout. In addition to baseline the TH 60 Corridor Study traffic studies, HR Green prepared two Intersection Control Evaluation reports and a VISSIM analysis of options so that travel time benefits of various configurations could be evaluated.
Community and resource agency partners were also contacted as part of the public engagement process in order to gain city and county buy-in on the proposed alternative. Similarly, the team completed environmental scanning documents including the project purpose and need, and the early notification memo. Multi-modal concerns were addressed through the inclusion of a trail adjacent to the lake, which lead to coordination with DNR regarding public waters impacts and mitigation. HR Green worked with GDSU to complete the geometric layout, which included a partial RCUT intersection and a continuous green T-intersection that is capable of being signalized at a future date.
