Trader Joe's

HR Green was contracted to prepare engineering and landscape design documents for the construction of a Trader Joe’s storefront. Staff responsibilities included landscape construction drawing and cost estimate preparation, coordination with Village staff, assisting the client with obtaining approvals, and construction administration.

HR Green coordinated with the Village as well as the current landscape maintenance contractor for the Trader Joe’s development in order to create a design that met the ordinance and fit into the existing context of the overall shopping center. Staff focused on species selection, maintenance needs, and the overall look of the design to create a uniform appearance within the shopping center. Plans included a tree survey and preservation plan, detention basin planting design, as well as a parkway, buffer, foundation, parking lot, and foundation plantings.
